BIOGRAPHY & HISTORY:
Mama Ibado Haji was born and raised in Kapsabet, Riftvalley Kenya. She lived in several places in Kenya including Eldoret, Nakuru,Kakamega, Isiolo and Nairobi. Over the years, she was actively involved in supporting the elderly by raising funds for food, supplies and clothing.
The late Ibado Haji commenced this initiative on a personal level to address, in her own small way, the poverty and distress that was experienced by her age mates. She was concerned and disturbed to see the elderly supporting their grandchildren by begging and appealing to friends and family instead of living their elderly life in dignity, respect and peace. After her death in 2009, Mama Ibado Charitable Foundation (MICF) was formed to continue providing food ration to the Elderly.
Mama Ibado Charitable Foundation (MICF) adopted the motto: Feeding our Elders is our responsibility. Today MICF supports 400 seniors in Isiolo town, Kenya.
